Our History

Harvest Deaf Bible College was founded in 1994 by Dr. Reggie Rempel, International Deaf Representative with Baptist International Missions, Inc.(BIMI). Dr. Rempel had a vision for a school that would train Deaf specifically to serve in the ministry. Originally founded as BIMI Deaf Bible Institute, classes began at Stanley Heights Baptist Church with 12 students. The dormitories were located on the current property in Ringgold, GA.  The second year of school, classes were moved to the Ringgold property. The third year the name was changed to BIMI Deaf Bible College adding a ministerial Sign Language program for the hearing.  A dining hall, offices, classes, dorms, and a chapel were added.  The college was later renamed Harvest Deaf Bible College.

Harvest Deaf Bible College is designed to train men and women for Christian ministries. The Bible curriculum is designed to ground students with the knowledge needed to teach and/or preach the Word of God.  Students also receive first hand experience serving in a local church ministry, visiting foreign fields, traveling in teams, or helping with summer deaf camps.  Through the past 30 years, Harvest Deaf Bible College has seen students graduate and go into local church ministries as pastors, teachers and interpreters, and also onto foreign fields as missionaries to the Deaf.
